I'm A Big Kid Now!!

I'm not really sure where the time is going, but it is hard to believe everything that the boys are doing.

Drew starts preschool in a month and a half...this day is going to be so hard on me. He finally decided that it isn't that hard to ride his tricycle that he got from Papa and Grandma Pingel, and he is even trying to roller skate.

Tyson is standing and starting to get brave to even take a few steps, he doesn't want anything to do with "baby toys" and only wants to play with Drew's toys. Oh and yes, he is a climber, he will climb onto anything that he can.

Yee Haw

We took the boys to their first rodeo the other weekend, Drew loved it and it seemed to keep Ty entertained. This was the first time I've been to a rodeo since we moved to Iowa and it has been awhile for J too. Even though I think this is where I lost my memory card for my camera we still had fun.
Here are a some pictures.

Fireworks, parade, and too much food...oh my

I don't really feel like writing a whole lot today, so to sum up the weekend...Friday we went to the park in Dyersville where they had jumpers and blow up slides and then we watched the firework show (best I've ever seen). Then on Saturday we went over to Mom's and went to the parade and the firework show there (another great show).
Hope you all had a great and safe 4th of July!

A Chunk...yes he is!

Tyson's nickname has become Chunk, he isn't an overly heavy baby, but comparing him to Drew he sure is.
Yesterday I took him in for his 9 month check up (a little behind). He is a whopping 22.11 pounds which puts him in the 75% and he is 29 inches which also puts him in the 75%. I was a little worried I would get scolded by doctor, you see Ty stopped breastfeeding when he was about 4 1/2 months, not sure if I just didn't ever produce enough, then he stopped taking formula, so he has only been talking whole milk for the last couple of months and I've never really given him baby food, but the doctor said he has no problems with anything.
Anyway, Ty is getting pretty brave letting go of things while he is standing and will stand for awhile. He has been pulling himself up and crawling since April. He has been pushing his walking toys around, and I think it will just be a matter of time before he decides to take off (not sure if I am ready for that). He will say "Mama, Dada, and Baba" and his favorite thing to play is monster with Drew, he squeals like a little girl.
I am thankful everyday to have to happy and healthy little boys!

Heavy

Some of you know already, but Monday night our family cat, Heavy went missing. He went outside around 8:30 and never came back.
Heavy has been with Jeremy longer than I have. I have never been a cat lover (I blame that on my Dad), but with Heavy I made and exception...just kidding, he was a good boy, and at times he acted more like a dog than a cat. As much as I would complain about the litter and his constant shedding, I wasn't ready for him to leave us.
So, Tuesday morning when I woke up and he still wasn't there, I waited for Aubrey to show up and for my babies to wake up and we walked around the neighbor hood, I was afraid that he wonder off to pass on, and I was afraid that Drew and I would find his lifeless body laying in a bush somewhere so we decided to come home. Later that morning, I saw Todd (one of Jeremy's co-workers) driving around...yep he was looking for Heavy too. Jeremy got home and 12:00 and Aubrey left at that same time, so the four of us looked around some more...still no Heavy.
Wednesday morning I woke up and went running to the back door to see if he was there, nope still no Heavy. Jeremy had the day off so he went walking around the neighbor hood again...and still no Heavy. I called every Vet in town and up to the police station...still no Heavy. That evening when I drove around looking for him with no luck. Every time we went outside we would call for him, but nothing.
One of the Vets that I spoke with gave me some hope, she told me that "yes pets do hide when they no that they are sick and they are dying, but the hide in a familiar place, i.e. under beds. And cat go by sight and not smell, so if he did wonder off it would take him longer to get home." Some relief, but this just wasn't like him.
Today, Thursday, Jeremy had to work at 5:00am, Tyson was starting to fuss about 4:00 and I heard Jeremy go in and claim him down, then I heard him go to the kitchen. While he was in the kitchen I heard "Heavy" every so lightly, then I heard him open up that back door and scream "Heavy", and then "Oh Heavy where have you been?"
I am very glad to report that Heavy came home to us a little after 4:00am he is fine, was hungry, but is fine, and we are all glad to have him home!

Scare

Well, as a mother I had my first big scare the other night with Tyson. Jeremy was working late last night and I always try to have the boys asleep before he gets home, otherwise they are so excited to see him that they end up staying up way too late. I put Tyson to bed early, he was fussing and rubbing his eyes so off to bed he went. I could hear him in their talking for a bit, but then all of a sudden he let out the worst cry that has ever come from him. I went running into his bedroom and he had his leg stuck (up to his knee) between two bars. His upper body was so twisted that I was scared if he twisted anymore he was going to snap his leg. I tried to move it and it was not budging, I put Drew in the crib with him so he could hold him still while I ran to get some lotion. I lathered his leg up with lotion, wouldn't move, so I put more lotion on, and it still won't move. I am thinking what am I going to do? If I have to call Jeremy it will take at least 10 minutes for him to get here, so I decided to put lotion on one more time and this time it comes free. After getting his leg free it took me about 45 minutes to calm him down, I bet the neighbors thought that I had beat him, they way he was screaming.

After getting him calmed down and back to sleep I called my in-laws, and they got me calmed down. I was worried he might have twisted his knee, and they told me all of the sings I should look for the next morning.

The next morning when he woke, the incident did not slow him down one bit. He has two bruises on either side of his knee, but all and all his leg is perfectly fine.
