Gonna Keep Him Busy

Drew and I received a package in the mail last week from Josh and Jill. It was a birthday present for the both of us, enclosed we found two work books, pre-K and kindergarten. We started working on the pre-K book right away and Drew is almost through the first section. He is working on finding letters, it will ask you to find two capital A and two lowercase a and then color them a certain color. He needed help at first, but now all he has to ask what color he needs. It will be a great prep for pre-school.

Thank you so much for the great gifts Uncle Josh and Aunt Jill.

Also wishing late birthday wishes to Uncle Josh, Uncle Nick and Aunt Jill.

Chasing After Two

Chasing after Drew and now Tyson has been so much fun, but by 9:00 I am ready for bed. Here are the latest updates on the boys.
We have put a halt on writing Drew's name, he isn't enjoying it and I don't want to push him, so maybe we will try again on a rainy day. He loves his sandbox and these last few days have killed him not being able to go outside and play. And all he talks about is getting to dress up like a penguin for my cousin Lexie's wedding and then going to the animal store (the zoo, I correct him and then he corrects me).
Tyson, well within the last three weeks he went from crawling here and there to crawling all of the time, to pulling himself up onto everything. We now have to keep all of the doors shut so he doesn't too far. Jeremy had to lower his crib last week so he wouldn't flip out. He now has 8 teeth, but I have a feeling it won't be for too long, I think he is working on his eye teeth (oh joy to me). He enjoys the sandbox, but unfortunately I can't put him in there without him trying to eat the sand.

All for now.

A Pingel Easter

Our Easter was very eventful. It started April 5th. We went to Mom's house to celebrate both Izzy and Ally's Birthdays. The girls got to open their gifts and then Mom brought out their Easter Baskets. Mom gave Drew swimming trunks, sidewalk chalk in the shape of eggs, and candy and Tyson got pretty much the same with a toy truck. After they got their Easter baskets we had cake and ice cream and then headed to County Inn and Suites, where we took the kids swimming. They had a slide and a kid pool with a small slide that was just perfect for Drew.

Saturday morning (April 11th) we headed to Galena to Mom's house. Once we arrived we went to Wal-Mart to see the Easter Bunny, Drew was so excited to see him, I was excited because I wanted to get a picture with him, because last year he wanted nothing to do with him. We got to Wal-Mart and as soon as Drew saw the Easter Bunny he started hiding behind Grandma's leg. Mom tried to sit with him and as you can see that didn't go so well. Tyson on the other hand, had no problem with the Easter Bunny. Of course he had to check him out, but didn't make a sound.

After we saw the Easter Bunny, we went back behind Wal-Mart where they had an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were each allowed 10 eggs. The boys got their eggs and we were off to another hunt.

The second Easter Egg Hunt was through the city, they separated the kids by age groups. The city will mark some of the eggs with numbers, if you get a numbered egg you get an Easter basket. Both of the boys ended up getting their Easter Baskets, it was filled with a stuffed Bunny, a puzzle, side walk chalk, a color book, some play dough, and a little bit of candy.

That night, after I pulled Drew away from the neighbors house (they were having a birthday party for their son who just turned 3), we colored Easter eggs and then covered them with stickers from Cars. I thought I did pretty good, because Drew didn't get much color on him, but as soon as we were done he stuck his whole hand in the blue coloring.

Sunday morning Drew woke up to find a house full of plastic eggs that were filled with candy. He ran around picking up all of the eggs and about half way through he saw his basket that had two Power Rangers, Madagascar 2, a car, and more candy and Tyson got two cars, some yogurt bites, a tool box, and a thing that spins some animals around (it is very cute). Drew was finishing the egg hunt and looked out the window by the back door and realized that the eggs we colored the night before where hidden in the back yard. He headed out back and started picking up those eggs (we made a trail with those eggs that lead to the big surprise). He got about half way through the trail and he looked up and said "Hey wait a minute. What is that?" and he took off running towards the surprise...it was a sandbox (no that we finally have a year it is time to buy some more outside toys).

(Tyson feel asleep while we were getting ready to head to Cedar Rapids.)

After the excitement of everything the Easter Bunny brought we headed to Cedar Rapids to see Jeremy's parents. We pulled in and right behind us was Jared and Amy. We went in and Drew and Tyson were spoiled once again with more Easter gifts, Drew got a glider and a Lighting McQueen Car, and two matchbox cars, and Tyson got some sippy cups and a spill proof bowl. We had a wonderful lunch that was prepared by Bob and we were able to visit with the family. Drew and Tyson had a blast playing with people other than their parents.

We had a wonderful Easter and thanks to everyone who helped make it special for us!

Iowa Pride

I must say that today I am extremely proud to be an Iowan! I know, for some, it will be hard to see these changes in Iowa. However, I couldn't be more proud of the state that I live in than I am right now and if I had a rainbow flag I would be flying it high right now!

Easter Bunny In The Sky??

The other night I fought and fought to get Drew to bed. It was after 10:00 and I finally thought to myself, "Santa watching over kids why can't the Easter Bunny?"

Mommy- "Drew you need to go to sleep like a big boy because the Easter Bunny is watching you."
Drew- "He is? Where does the Easter Bunny live?"
Mommy- I think for a minute...."He lives in the sky in the clouds." As soon as I said I thought to myself "Duh bunnies live in the ground".

Drew keeps telling people now that the Easter Bunny lives in the sky in the clouds, people are going to start to wonder what I teach my kids....oops.
