Surprise Visitor

Last Friday, I had a surprise knock on my door, one of those great surprises that makes you shake and cry and smile from ear to ear.

The year that I was in The Netherlands, I made an amazing friend, one of those friends you can spill your beans too, one of those friends you can go a month or two with out talking to and it doesn't seem to have been that long.

The second week I arrived in Holland I was sent to Stadskanaal for a two week language school, where I would learn the basics...the ABCs, how to say thank you, your welcome, and so on. Since I was sponsored by the Rotary, every exchange student that was sponsored by the Rotary, that came that time of year was sent to Stadskanaal. Since there were so many of us they put two of us per house, and I was blessed to have Amanda as my room mate. Through out that year would we get together every other month for a Rotary weekend and we did our final tour though Europe together. But, we saw each other more than that, she was my friend that I leaned on when I learned my parents were divorcing and when I was with a family that I absolutely hated.

Now we are friends till the end. The last time I had seen her was five and a half years ago when she stood up with me tas a bridesmaid at my wedding. It was great to see her. The visit was short, but I'll take what I can get!

When did you go to The Netherlands??? For some reason, I don't remember that! I'm glad you're posting again :) And as far as hosting a PC party, I'd have to politely decline :( Sorry, but I'm not good at home party stuff. Not to mention that I'd have to host it between 10 p.m. and midnight and that's my blogging time! :)

What a wonderful visit it was...but I'd have to say that the picture is not the greatest of us...my wrinkled up face looks funny! I had a great time reminiscing and meeting your 2 beautiful children:) Hopefully the next visit will be longer!
